Qimo gets a mention in the latest Ubuntu Podcast. We were also interviewed by them at FLS in Jacksonville, that will be part of their next episode.
They start talking about Qimo at about 36 minutes.

James
Why is a Linux project website deployed using Microsoft .Net technology?
Simon,
The hosting space and hardware for Qimo4kids.com has been graciously donated, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness. Any help at all that we are given is help that is changing kids’ lives, and we don’t want to turn that down.
Thanks for your interest in Qimo!
Great! I’m glad you’re getting more publicity, else I never would have known about this.
I had suggested something like this back when Ubuntu Brainstorm was launched,
http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/4526/
and people voted it down (grr…) because they confused it with the existing Edubuntu.
What, no Contact Us link? I wanted to make a donation but saw your "Under Construction" page instead. I did a lot of research on this (online donations for non-profit web-sites) a couple years ago but I don’t have it anymore. Instead, I was going to suggest the following ideas:
Paypal
http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-standard-overview-outside
Echo (Intuit)
http://www.echo-inc.com/accept-donation-payments-online.html
P.S. My 5yo daughter has DS and so I’m totally the target audience for this product 🙂
Tony – we’re having problems getting the Qimo website to integrate the Paypal donation buttons, for some reason. Getting that fixed is on the to-do list.
We DO need a Contact Us link. That’s an excellent idea, and I’ll get someone on it. Meanwhile, you’re welcome to email me at michelle@qimo4kids.com
Thanks!!
como baixar o Qino gratuitamente no meu computador? obrigada.
qerro baixar o qimo.
To the left, there is a "Download" section. Please click on that link, follow the links at the bottom of the page to download, and then burn a live CD. Qimo points back to the Ubuntu respositories, and so you should be able to find a translation into Portuguese, if it is not already available on the CD.
